Julia Utensili has been ISO90001 certified since February 2003 to guarantee the quality of products and with the knowledge gained in 25 years of experience in circular saw blade manufacture to continually improve blade performance.
All HSS blades are manufactures in Europe using local steel and workmanship, to the highest standards.
Coated HSS blades
Julia HSS circular saw blades are available with a range of coatings designed to prolong the blade life in a number of materials and material sections.
To obtain the maximum performance of the coatings it’s necessary to ensure very high standards of the blade body material and to properly prepare the blade surface so that an optimal adhesion of the surface coating will provide a the longest life. To guarantee these results Julia has developed a special process for preparing the blades by grinding of the surface to be coated up to a surface finish better than 0,3 Rz, cleaning with chemical activation of the surfaces and a subsequent treatment under vacuum which leave the surface perfectly clean, free of oxides and dry, so that the deposited layer achieves maximum adhesion.
Post surface treatment, all blades undergo a further check for run-out and flatness, and, where found out of tolerance, the blades are tensioned again.
All of the Julia PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) coatings are applied by Julia Utensili under strict quality controls, assuring the high quality of the final product.
The coatings have now simple names to help our customers remember them but also to underline their high degree of specialty when compared to standard coatings as TiN, TiCN, etc.

Solid carbide (HM) DIN slitting saws
Solid carbide slitting saws manufactured according to DIN 1837 (fine) and DIN 1838 (coarse).
We can also produce every kind of specials according to the material to be cut.
The blades can be manufactured flat or with hollow-ground up to the bore or with hub.
Choosing the right solid carbide saw blade:
using high cutting speeds and feeds, our solid carbide saw blades give the greatest possible cutting rates and considerably reduce component unit cost.
Always ensure that:
– cutter shafts are rigid and vibrations-free
– that the parts to be machined are well clamped :
– avoid side pressure on the saw blade.
If possible use a flood coolant, such as an emulsioned oil if working on ferrous metals, petrol of kerosene if cutting aluminium and aluminium alloys, nickel, silver, etc., compressed air if working on cast iron or plastics.

Friction saws for cutting pipe and profiles
Friction to the service of cutting
Julia produces friction saws for flying or static cutting of pipes and profiles in carbon steel such as ST37, ST52, etc., with hardness ranging from 300 and 600 N/mm².
Our friction saw blades are manufactured with two different materials: chrome-vanadium steel (80CrV2 or 1.2235) and wolframium-molibdenum (73WCrMoV2 or 1.2604).
Our available range encompasses all dimensions mounted on the most common macchines using the friction cutting technology, such as:
Abbey Etna, Dreistern, Mannesmann, Oto Mills, MTM, Vai Seuthe, TRM, Trennijaeger.
The friction saw blades, unlike cut-off circular saws (low RPM), run at a very high RPM, so generating in the cutting area very high temperatures bringing the material in plastic condition easing its cutting.
The cutting is performed in a dry condition and the blade is cooled off only after the cutting; this lubrication lengthens the blade life.
